Our new museum shows all four forms of natural
flight Bird, Insect, Bat and Pterosaur we will also depict the evolution of powered flight from before the flights of the Wright brothers to beyond the space program. The exhibition shows the development of feathered flight from the very earliest feathered flights of Archaeopteryx back to a full scale skeletal replica of Pteranodon with an 11m wing span.
We show how Bat’s fly and Insect’s take off, how they manipulate air
current to gain sufficient lift. How an aircraft weighing forty tons can fly to the other side of the world. And how they fly faster than the speed of sound.
How Galileo understood the principles of flight hundreds of years before the Wright brothers. And how when investigators built his flying machine it flew just as a modern hang glider does.
The exhibition describes the largest, tallest, fastest, heaviest, smallest and the oldest birds ever to have appeared on our planet. There are hundreds of exhibits of Falconry, bird eggs as large as a Basket ball and as small as a Pea examples of dinosaur nest and fossilized remains. A fascinating, and ever expanding exhibition of powered flight.
